Quality and EHS Policy

  Quality Policy

We commit to meet National/International Standards and to manufacture and supply consistent quality Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients, Excipients, Intermediates and Pharmaceutical Dosage Forms to achieve customer satisfaction.

We care, to meet changing customer expectations, to enhance our employee contributions and to develop and retain our suppliers, in order to sustain our organizational performance.

We evaluate results of our management processes, work methods, practices, controls and resources on an on-going basis, to achieve continual improvement of our systems, products and services.

We accept responsibilities, to provide conducive work environment for our employees, to reduce problems and to desist from adversely impacting our surroundings.

  EHS policy

Shasun Chemicals and Drugs Limited (Shasun) are committed to protecting the health and safety of their employees and protecting the environment. Shasun is committed to providing a safe working environment for all its employees, independent contractors, vendors, and customers, and will operate its facilities in a manner that prevents harm to public health and the environment. Shasun will seek to conserve energy, water, raw materials and other resources, use recycling and reduce waste generation where appropriate. Shasun shall be good neighbors in their communities by insuring that the facilities do not pose unreasonable risks and by participating in community activities related to Environment, Health & Safety (EHS). In all its activities, Shasun will comply with all applicable laws. Shasun will design its products in a manner that eliminates unreasonable risks from the manufacture, use and disposal of the product. This policy applies to all Shasun units and locations.

2 RESPONSIBILITY FOR IMPLEMENTATION
Shasun Business Leaders are responsible for implementing this policy, and developing and maintaining a system designed to ensure compliance with this policy and all applicable environment, health and safety laws and regulations through the respective Facility Heads. Facility Heads and their representatives shall make all employees aware of this policy and Shasun’s commitment to environment, health and safety excellence, and shall provide leadership regarding this policy. They will ensure that quarterly certifications of EHS performance at their respective facilities are provided to the senior management for review. They will also ensure that an effective EHS management system, which will achieve the intent of this policy, is operating effectively in their facilities. They will also report annually on the EHS performance of their facility. Every Shasun employee is also responsible for complying with this Policy. Although the Facility Heads and other management will provide leadership, direction, and resources to support implementation of the policy, compliance with the policy and implementation of its terms is the responsibility of all employees.

3 APPLICATION
Working with the assistance of facility EHS personnel, the Facility Heads will ensure that all operations have an EHS management system in place that is designed to achieve Shasun’s EHS operational goals stated above and seek to make continual improvements to the EHS performance. 

Shasun Management shall establish and implement an Environment, Health and Safety Program that meets the company’s expectations defined from time to time, hold managers and supervisors accountable for the EHS performance of their facilities and departments, ensure that managers, supervisors and employees receive the necessary education and training to understand their EHS responsibilities, maintain an open communication environment, in which employees feel free to raise EHS issues without fear of retribution, and in which managers and supervisors address employees’ questions and concerns promptly and thoroughly, and provide the necessary resources and support to achieve these objectives.

Employees are responsible for working safely in accordance with regulations, standards, and procedures and in a manner that eliminates unreasonable risk to public health and the environment, notifying management of unsafe conditions or practices, unlawful activities and activities that present unreasonable risks to public health or the environment, and reporting accidents, occupational illnesses, and safety and environmental incidents to management.

Any employee with an EHS concern should raise the concern initially with her/his supervisor and/or site or facility EHS personnel. Concerns may also be communicated to the facility head orally or in writing for redress.  Shasun Chemicals and Drugs Limited (Shasun) are committed to protecting the health and safety of their employees and protecting the environment.
