Though many of our contract research activity where cost is covered by the client, commercial IP rights belongs to the client, SRC is also involved with various in-house research where it generates IP specially in the field of process patent, technology development. No of patents have been filed by shasun scientists based on their work in these areas. Moreover, Shasun research center also is keen to make sure that other IP is not violated by our scientists while developing processes for new chemical entities.
The IP department at Shasun is responsible in ensuring that the Company will not infringe any third party’s rights and protecting Company’s intellectual property against any unauthorized use by third party. Shasun’s IP policy states that: “All products developed or sold by the Company would not willfully infringe third-party patent rights”.
Key activities of the department include IP Creation, Protection, Exploitation, Enforcement and Management. Shasun’s IP department work closely with all other departments and units, to provide IP support in developing non-infringing processes for APIs and Formulations. Other roles of the department include access new markets and acquire platform technologies by licensing strategy. The team also engages in providing IP related training and awareness for the scientists in the units. |
